​Registration
The registration link above will become active on March 1, 2026. To begin your application, you must have a Unit Access Code, which is provided by your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit.
All applications must be completed by May 1, 2026.
Before You Start:
Please review the following important notes before beginning your application:

Some forms require completion and signatures from a parent or guardian.

Do not use your school email address when completing the application.

You will need the name of your high school and the name, email address, and phone number of a school official. This is typically a school counselor, principal, or JROTC instructor.
Application Process:
Step 1: Completed by the sponsoring Unit.
Step 2: Once you and your parent/guardian have completed the application and all required forms, you will receive a confirmation email.
Step 3: Your high school will then be contacted to complete a verification form confirming your eligibility to attend Girls State.
After Steps 2 and 3 are complete, you will receive another email instructing you to log back into the application portal. Additional information and preparation materials will be available there.

Orientation
In late spring, orientation sessions are held around the state. The Georgia Department is divided into Twelve (12) districts and there is a Girls State Chairman for each district. Find the list of chairmen here. Not every district will hold an in-person orientation. There will be a virtual orientation announced for May.
Arrival and Departure
Georgia Girls State will be held on the campus of Valdosta State University. The dorm's name is Georgia Hall. Report to Georgia Hall between 1:00 and 3:30 on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Citizens may leave upon completion of the graduation ceremony (~11:30 am). Make arrangements to depart no later than 1 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026. Inauguration and Graduation Ceremony
The Inauguration and Graduation for Georgia Girls State will take place in Whitehead Auditorium, located in the Fine Arts Building. Guests may park in the Oak Street Parking Deck. Click on link for maps and directions.

Citizens may leave following the graduation ceremony.
